This was the first in this series of 5 songs I did late in my creative period before returning to college and science. While I enjoyed lyrical pieces I always loved works with a repetitive nature, such as a Merengue. This and the second work played on repetition but by moving through octaves to make the repeats less obvious..

track 3
This is my favorite piece in the series. Lyrical, complex chords, and a wide-ranging melody. I loved chord colors and the sense of hopefulness and movement this short short piece gave me. I never finished it. It is one of the few pieces that I ever wrote down as sheet music.
track 4
Another short short piece that was meant to be the end of another, previously-existing work of mine. This has a slow jazz feel and I never used it but it was on the tape so...
track 5
Also known as "Fall Day".
I actually worked out this piece during this recording. There are numerous "delays" where I recall selecting the next chord. It is one of the few pieces that I later played and recorded on synthesizer. There are many times I played bad notes or chords and back-tracked a little.
I realized the theme for the piece is less melody but more the "daaa da da" phrasing. I still hear this song in my head some years later. At the very end is a little "study" of a second part for the song - all experimental.
