This site has gone through many changes over the years. It started out in 1993 as one of only a literal hand-full of web sites on the Internet. I had done some minor development of the web server under linux. My focus then: a little bit about me and more about the Chemistry Department where I was an Associate Professor.
The name "ffilmar" is a pseudonym for my writing that melds "film" and "art" and parts of my given name. This domain was to house all my creative and professional endeavors. In time I put more content on research and links to development projects and interesting sites.
When I moved the hosting to an Internet provider, losing full creative and technical control was troublesome - I felt the site became sterile and cookie-cutter. It languished there for years loaded only with my stories and a little music. In 2015 I took the site back to my own servers, allowing me to re-invent the content and purpose and, as a plus, use my coding skills and learn CSS.
For those who care the entire site is a perl script that assembles pages from items in directories. Very little is hard-coded.
The content is about some of what I do. It's as much a lightweight resume as it is another place to present my works, hopefully without being pretentious.
I value your input on content, direction and tone. I look forward to hearing from friends and those interested in my projects and works.
